Introducing Elaine, owner and designer at Frampton Flowers
Elaine is one of those driven ladies I had been following and admiring from afar for sometime now. It seemed that whenever I clicked on a wedding feature that I loved the floral work of, most of the time it was her work at Frampton Flowers. In a weird 6 degrees of separation thing, both Erica (Peper Events) and Amy (Amy DeVito Events & Design) freelance with Elaine and had nothing but amazing things to say.
Elaine has been in the industry for six years and brings a wealth of knowledge. She started her journey working with an event planner, but quickly realized that she was more passionate about really focusing her creative eye on one aspect.
Elaine is trained in several different styles of floral design. This allows her to be flexible and really think out of the box. She shared that one of her favorite things about working with couples is when they provide her with what their needs are and inspiration images and she brings it to life. "It makes me so happy when they say, 'THAT is just what I was picturing!'"
Just like all true creatives, her most favorite wedding moment to date is when a bride told her to just do her thing. Her biggest piece of advice to couples is to not get hung up on the nitty gritty detail. She encourages couples to choose vendors that they trust so that they can step back, enjoy their day, look at the big picture of their day, and let their vendors handle on the small pieces to bring it all together.
For Elaine's feature, we met at Hampton Park downtown and she brought along her adorable pup, Wenworth. We met pretty early in the morning leaving the light through the trees perfection. The couple of days before it had been a very nice 70 degree day. On this morning...it was maybe 50. She handled it like a champ barely shivering at all. Wentworth, on the other hand, was pretty disgusted by all our fawning over him...and the floral collar. But what a dapper little gent!
Meeting at Hampton was so lovely because it's something natural these two enjoy doing. Elaine lives downtown and enjoys heading to new parks with Wentworth. She also likes to go bowling, work out, cook, and travel. She recommends everyone that comes to Charleston take stroll south of Broad.
If you haven't noticed, all of my features have included food. I'm a sucker for good food and always looking for new places. Elaine's favorite restaurants are Minero, Indaco, Coast, Monza, and The Grocery.
Elaine loves travelling and sets a goal to travel somewhere new at least once a year to be part of someone's amazing wedding. She's traveled as far as Vegas! I can't wait to see what she'll be up to this wedding season.
