Amanda and Drew| Sunrise Beach Session
It's been a crazy couple of weeks here at my house. Monday I had the most amazing styled wedding session. The days preceding it were spent gathering decorations and coordinating. The days since have been spent returning items donated and editing away at the most swoon worthy images. I can't wait to share them, but I digress...
Also, this coming Sunday is L's first birthday party. Hold on, I got something in my eye (swear it's not tears). On top of all this, I've been completely swamped with new client inquiries. All of this crazy is such a blessing and good problem to have.
When I get an inquiry, one of the first things I do, is schedule a time for a quick phone chat. It's my first step at building a relationship with my clients so that I can provide the most individualized, boutique, customer service experience. This adorable family I am about to introduce you to, was one of my favorite phone calls to date.
Amanda and Drew reached out to me months in advance to book their family portrait session. In fact, they didn't even live here yet. This adorable and furry (only 3 of them-really) family just moved here from "the North". In SC almost everything else is North, but in this case I mean it. In fact, Amanda wanted to wear a sleevless dress on the beach at sunrise when the weather forecast was calling for barely 50 degrees. That's unheard of nonsense in the south.
We met early in the morning when it was still dark out and headed for Seabrook Island. Amanda had told me that they wanted to include their fur babies as well and they wanted the beach to rub their warm weather home into the noses of their popsicle family and friends left behind. I was up for the challenge. I had styled their session like a breakfast picnic to watch the sunrise. I'm a hopeless romantic and this one ended up feeling like a second engagement session. The dogs were 100% uncooperative, but they had the biggest time. Once we moved behind the dunes and they had run off some energy we were finally able to get some family group portraits.
I had brought the pups some delicious and adorable dog treats from Dolittle's in Windemere Shopping Center. They were a hit...even covered in sand. Without further rambling from me, everyone, give a big Lowcountry welcome to Amanda & Drew. Feel free to comment with a suggestion of something they should do/try as new Charlestonians.
