Amanda and Max

Our family has been fortunate to have wonderful "strangers" come into our lives at so many junctures. We truly live by the phrase, "strangers are just friends we haven't met yet". E was fortunate to introduce us to this wonderful girl as she was her teacher for a year in her 2's class.

Amanda reached out to me in the fall about doing some pictures of her and her sweet dog, Max downtown. Amanda is one of those unicorns (someone who actually did grow up in the Charleston area). We decided on an early morning sunrise session at The Battery. It ended up being a densly foggy morning which created some really cool lighting from a photography standpoint.

Max has such a fun personality. He was excited about being out and seeing and smelling all the new things. Amanda did an excellent job of "maneuvering" him while wearing heels.

Amanda is such a sweetheart. She has an infectious laugh and patient and generous heart.  E learned so much from her year with her and Ms. Mildred. It's hard enough for me to handle the one toddler I have. I can't imagine being in charge of 14+ of them. We loved our experience at the Children's Discovery Center and were so sad to say good-bye. However, it's been great getting to know Amanda outside of her role as our daughter's teacher. E has enjoyed having her come over for her birthday party this summer and enjoyed seeing her when Amanda came over for her session reveal. Here are some of my favorite images of this beautiful girl and her fun-loving pup. Check out this sweater and bowtie!
