Charleston Beach Engagement| Sharon & Malikah
I Love Charleston Beach Engagement Sessions
If I've said it once I've said it 1,000 times, I LOVE ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS!
When Sharon reached out to me to discuss her session, I looked first at her Instagram account and fan girled out! Y'all! She's done make up for Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Steve (Joe Keery) on Stranger Things!!! If you want to, follow her here. I digress.
When I got her on the phone, she and I had a wonderful conversation where I discovered that she is a foodie and they wanted to include one of their favorite restaurants in their engagement session (in fact-here is her food blog). I met with her and Malikah in their gorgeous home to start planning their engagement session.
Unfortunately, the day we arrived to their favorite place, THEY WERE CLOSED! Sharon and Malikah had coordinated with the restaurant, but kitchen malfunctions had caused them to close early. We scrambled and brainstormed and came up with Smoke. We started their session at Smoke with bloody mary's and wings before heading out to Folly to finish up with some sunset beach images.
By the time we arrived at Folly, it was cold. I rushed them through some romantic shots that they pulled off beautifully. I actually made them jog in the cold sand to hit the perfect light of the sunset.
Last week when I arrived at their home for their reveal & ordering session I had such an eye opening experience. The two of them were snuggled on the couch and openly giggling about funny inside jokes they saw hidden within the images. I realized that while I may be married to my best friend, these two have something so unique and beautiful. Watching them and listening to them I realized that they are LITERALLY best friends. I was in awe. Sharon is so deeply thoughtful about Malikah. As we were planning, she was always considering what Malikah would prefer. Malikah makes how much she deeply cares about Sharon evident. When we arrived at their favorite restaurant for the session and we realized we couldn't do them there, she immediately got on the phone to try to figure it out so that Sharon's image could come to life. She gave Sharon her socks to put on her bare feet on the cold sand in between sessions and even tolerated lipstick on her lips to get the pictures.
Their wedding in Greece is going be amazing and their life ahead will be just as spectacular.
Congratulations, you two.
