Waiting on Emma| Downtown Charleston Maternity
Downtown Charleston Maternity-Full of Grace
This session was a dream. Truly. Because to avoid having a ton of traffic I think Laura (the gorgeous mom) and I were still dreaming it was so early. She was obliging my vision of a classic and elegant dress set on the empty streets of Charleston. Anyone who lives in Charleston knows that empty streets only happen at one time....super early.
I use to live downtown and frequently ran well before sunrise when the roads belonged to me, my two dogs, and the street sweepers. It was quiet and peaceful. It's a stark contrast to the way these roads are 90% of the time. And isn't that how waiting for a new baby is? It's lots of quiet, contemplative moments before the hustle and bustle of folding a new life into your own begins. Emma will soon be joining her family. She will be greeted by a doting Papa, an eager big brother, and breathtakingly/painfully gorgeous and patient momma.
This session started with a gown from Charlotte Rose on Etsy and make up by Jami in front of the Provost Dungeon. We then moved towards Waterfront Park. Laura changed into a floral maxi and met her boys for some family portraits. Most of these were done with full natural light excluding a few before the sun was up high enough where I used a flash unit off camera.
I can't wait to meet Emma!
