A Downtown Theater Wedding| Mr & Mrs Smith
A Downtown Theater Wedding was the Perfect Vibe for Mr & Mrs Smith
You may remember this sweet couple from their engagement session at the Charleston Farmer's Market. If you don't...go here. I adore Kate & Chad. When I met with them about their wedding, I was creatively thrilled. They shared their plans for a catholic church wedding and a super cool reception at Woolfe Street Playhouse. Best part...party bus intermission!
I arrived at the house that Kate's family had rented downtown. Kate was gorgeous and no nerves. This girl was all smiles and her excitement and joy were contagious. The house they were renting just happened to be right next to one of my favorite alleys. I snuck Kate out into the heat for a few bridal portraits in the alley.
At some point prior to the wedding, Kate tore some of the tulle on her amazing gown. Instead of panic, she said "Well, that didn't last long." She kept smiling and joking. During the ceremony, Chad stepped on the same spot and it ripped more. The gown continued to rip during our party bus adventures. Chad, who is not big on PDA, got really good at the public displays of affection. How could you not?! Kate was the picture of a joyful and beautiful bride.
By the time they arrived at the reception the rip was a nuisance. Chad kept stepping on it...everyone kept stepping on it. They made the decision to cut off the stray piece. Kate's mom saved the fabric and said it would be great to incorporate into a christening gown someday. I opted to use it for a flat lay with the invitation and rings.
At dusk we did an early sparkler send off. It was perfect because the Woolfe Street sign was illuminated. It was a wonderful evening and I'm grateful to have been a part.
One of my favorite parts was coming over to their home about 12 days after the wedding. Kate had breakfast waiting for me and we ate and laughed. Then we sat together on the couch and I showed them their wedding pictures. Together we chose their favorite images to go in their distressed leather album. Enjoy!
