Investing in my Passions
Eleven years ago when I started my business, I was so hungry for all the experiences, practice and work. I took any lead that came my way. As the years have gone by, my experience has grown, my family has grown, my time has dwindled and I’ve realized what I enjoy photographing.
COVID gave me a forced break to evaluate how my energy in my business was being spent. I began to reflect on what I enjoy photographing, what sorts of clients give me sparks and energy, and what sorts of work leave me feeling fulfilled. If I’m going to take time away from my family, I want it to be meaningful beyond just the client experience.
The sessions that I love doing…are my beauty and boudoir portraits. I enjoy working on capturing beautiful portraits of beautiful souls. I enjoy taking the time to turn the camera on someone and having them be excited to see themselves in a whole new way; helping women shed their insecurities and fears and giving at all cost even if it’s only for our session.
I love capturing engagements and new love. I will get butterflies watching couples together and capturing their excitement. For this reason I will continue taking on a limited number of weddings each year.
What I will not be carving time out for moving forward are newborn sessions or extended family sessions.
Below are a few examples over the last few years of more of what I want. Consider it my universal goal board.
